Every piece in this studio started as a tree somebody lost: to a storm, to disease, to a chainsaw crew clearing a back lane. Sean finds the log before the chipper does, cuts it open, and lets what is inside decide what it becomes. No lathe. No plans. One of one, every time.
He works from a small shop in Winnipeg, Manitoba, carving with chainsaws and angle grinders and finishing with beeswax, brass, deerskin and patience. The films of that process have gone around the world.
Vases, vessels, bowls and sculpture, each one carrying the story of the street it came from. Most pieces on this site show you the exact neighbourhood their tree stood in, the day it came down, and 72 real moments from the bench as it became itself.
Some trees ask for a second telling. Two poems so far: one for a koa that watched Pearl Harbor, one for the Interlake itself.
Every available piece, every story, every film.
