Brassheart
This piece comes from the same salvaged St. Vital apple tree, shaped around a natural cavity where age or damage once hollowed the wood. Instead of patching over the void, I poured brass, letting the absence speak, but in a brighter tongue.
The form is soft and weighted, like a stone smoothed by river time. The brass inlay rests in the heart of the piece, rising like a flame or a figure. Quiet, grounded, and luminous.
Brassheart is about what holds. What remains after the storm. What gets poured back in.
