Rip Current
Hawaiian Koa | 13"
The sister bowl to Ebb Tide, carved from the same gifted Koa wood. The two pieces came from one tree that left Hawai'i roughly 30 years ago, passed through a retired carver's lifetime on the Canadian prairies, and found its way to my workshop in Winnipeg when he sought me out to carry the wood forward.
Hand-textured ridges run with the grain, not against it. The figure of the Koa moves through the walls like heat through water.
Intended for my daughter.
Not for sale.
Size: 13" | Material: Hawaiian Koa (gifted) | Finish: Natural oil and wax
