Teardrop Series - Helter Skelter
Carved from basswood salvaged in Winnipeg’s Wildwood Park, this piece takes the teardrop shape and adds a twist. The wood is soft and light, like it remembered how to have fun even after the fall.
I carved this twisted form by feel, letting the grain guide a spiral… like a helter-skelter slide. It’s playful. Almost like an ice-cream cone. A sculpture that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but still balances form, flow, and precision.
It’s a piece about movement, momentum, and letting go. Enjoy the ride.
