This 6-inch sculptural teardrop was carved from Manitoba maple, salvaged from a tree felled for construction in Winnipeg’s Tuxedo neighbourhood. The wood is alive with color and pattern reminiscent of the northern lights.

At the base, a hollowed chamber made by ants is filled with vibrant blue resin. It reads like water… a still pool, a spring, a source. From that quiet centre, a spirit line rises upward through the body of the wood to the Aurora sky.
