Wabi-Sabi Series - Woodstone
This piece was carved from applewood, a gift from a tree surgeon. The tree had lived a full life … and through this vessel, it continues in stillness.
The end grain reveals the tree’s quiet archive: rings of growth, dark and light, moving outward from the heart. The form is soft and stone-like … a shape that feels like it could’ve been found in a riverbed, shaped by the flow.
The colours shift from amber to cocoa, like memory moving through light. The rim is slightly tilted. The opening off-centre. The imperfection reminds: balance is a living thing.
