This vase was carved from the same Tuxedo neighbourhood maple as Prairie Aurora No. 1. The tree was taken down for new construction, but what was lost in shade and shelter has been reborn in light and form.
The wood is alive with colour … golden amber and rose bleeding softly into cream. It’s a still shape, but it carries the feeling of movement: light falling, wind shifting, the sky changing just before night.
The rim is slightly uneven. The grain wavers like brushstrokes. Nothing here is perfect … and that’s precisely the point.
